About

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy have been used as a therapeutic device for thousands of years, there is evidence of its existence in the ancient Egyptian temples and it was even once used as a form of anaesthesia in surgery in the 1800’s.  It is now recognised as an effective complementary therapy in the treatment of many conditions, both physical and psychological.  Indeed, the National Institute for Health & Care Excellence recognises Hypnotherapy as an effective way of managing Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Despite how Hypnosis is depicted on Television, a Hypnotherapist does not have control over an individual and it cannot force someone to do something that is against their own moral code or to do something that they truly don’t want to do.  For most people, Hypnosis just brings about an extremely pleasant, relaxed feeling.  In fact you’ve probably experienced Hypnosis before but just not recognised it.  If you’ve ever read a book or watched a television programme, becoming so engrossed that you haven’t heard someone calling your name, then this is hypnosis, a state of very focussed attention.  When you’re in such a state, the Hypnotherapist can talk to your subconscious mind to bring about positive, lasting change.

Brain Working Recursive Therapy

‘BWRT®’ stands for ‘BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®’, a model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terence Watts, MCGI. Like many other modern therapies, it allows a ‘core of privacy’ so that you do not have to divulge anything you would rather not talk about – in fact, the practitioner only needs to know how you feel and how you would prefer to feel instead. BWRT® is a completely new and different therapy based on the latest discoveries about the way the brain works and how it affects our moods, behaviour and emotions. Only Certified Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT® and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code. Find out more at http://www.bwrt.org
