Combat Stress & Anxiety
Most people will experience stress at some point in their life; it could be because a situation or event puts pressure on you, there may be something you’re worrying about, a break-up or divorce perhaps. Even happy events like expecting a child can often be a source of stress for some people.
It is often just accepted that stress and anxiety are a part of everyday life and to a certain extent some stress can be helpful, e.g. to help us reach work deadlines, but problems arise when stress becomes persistent and overwhelming and starts to negatively affect our relationships, work or home life. Where chronic levels of stress are allowed to build up, this can be very harmful to our physical health and can lead to increased chances of heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes and obesity.
It may not be obvious that you are suffering with stress or anxiety, but the following can indicate extreme levels of tension:
Waking up tired
Difficulty falling asleep
Bruxism (grinding teeth)
Persistent tiredness or exhaustion
Feeling panicked or as though you have a lack of time
Aches and pains
Most of us know that we can physically relax with a long, hot bath or by curling up on the sofa to watch a film but in order to keep the body in balance, it is just as important to take time to relax your mind as well. This is where hypnotherapy can be extremely effective. I can provide you with the tools required to help you cope with stressful situations, including teaching you self-hypnosis. We can also try and find the root cause of your stress/anxiety to try and eliminate it altogether.
